Celebrating Women in Mining

As featured in the Mining Journal, Adriatic Metals’ CEO Laura Tyler shared her journey in mining and the importance of fostering a more inclusive industry.

With over 35 years of experience across four continents, Laura has seen firsthand how the sector has evolved. From improved safety standards to a stronger focus on sustainability, mining is continuously progressing—but more needs to be done to close the gender gap.

“Changing the conversation around mining is crucial. We must showcase the opportunities available, highlight the incredible women already in the industry, and ensure young women see this as a space where they can thrive,” said Laura.

At Adriatic Metals, women make up 23% of the workforce, well above the industry average. However, the company remains committed to further increasing representation through mentorship programs, leadership pathways, and inclusive policies.
